St. Andrew Alumnae Association, Inc., New York Chapter (SAAANY) started in 1960 by a group of Jamaicans who were the beneficiaries of an outstanding education, encompassing academic excellence, sportsmanship, moral, integrity, leadership, strength of character and cultural pride, obtained at St. Andrew High School for Girls, Kingston, Jamaica.  The school opened on September 21, 1925 as the Jamaica High School for Girls with 21 scholars and celebrates its 85th anniversary this year.  SAAANY is committed to preserving the legacy of the education and ideals exemplified in the words of our school motto      “Life more Abundant.” As such, we have tirelessly over the past half a century given back to our alma mater our time, skills, talents and abilities, as well as resources.  SAAANY incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in 1987.

Through our fund raising efforts, we support educational initiatives of our alma mater, and select schools and educational initiatives in the New York City Metropolitan area.
